About Us

Since its opening in 2000, with financial support from Dr. Ed and Beatriz Schweitzer, the Pullman Aquatic and Fitness Center has served families, students, and athletes across the Palouse. From swim lessons and high school swim meets to fitness classes and open swim hours, the center has been a cornerstone of wellness and water safety for all ages and backgrounds.

In 2025, Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) purchased the Pullman Aquatic and Fitness Center from the Pullman School District to modernize the facility and expand its programming to better serve the community. Reflecting its expanded offerings, the upgraded facility became the Schweitzer Wellbeing Center.

On the future of the center, Dr. Schweitzer affirms, “SEL, Beatriz, and I are happy to ensure this valued community asset continues to thrive for decades to come.”
