Our Aquatic Center is proud to offer American Red Cross Lifeguard and Water Safety programs taught by experienced instructors. Whether you’re looking to start a career in aquatics, renew a current certification, or build strong personal water safety skills, we have a course designed for you.
PROGRAMS
Lifeguard Certification Course
Become a professional rescuer with the skills, confidence, and certification required to keep swimmers safe.
Our American Red Cross Lifeguard classes include:
- Water rescue skills
- Surveillance and scanning techniques
- Emergency response and team communication
- CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid
Prerequisites
Participants must meet the American Red Cross swim requirements, which include a timed brick retrieval, continuous swimming, and a demonstration of essential water competency skills.
Successful completion results in:
- Shallow Water Lifeguarding certification
- CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers certification
- First Aid certification
(All valid for two years, per American Red Cross guidelines.)
CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification
Our CPR, automated external defibrillator (AED), and first aid course provides participants with the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively in a wide range of medical emergencies. This training is ideal for community members, caregivers, employees learning workplace safety requirements, and anyone who wants to be prepared when it matters most.
- Participants gain hands-on skills and practical knowledge in:
- Recognizing and responding to cardiac emergencies.
- Performing high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants.
- Using an AED safely.
- Providing first aid for common injuries—such as cuts, burns, and sprains—and sudden illnesses.
- Assessing situations quickly and delivering appropriate care until professional help arrives.
Successful completion of the course results in a two year American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid certification, widely recognized for workplace and community requirements.
Lifeguarding Review/Recertification Courses
This class refreshes:
- Rescue techniques.
- CPR/AED and first aid protocols.
- Surveillance and emergency response skills.
Participants must hold a current or recently expired American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification. Participants with a recently expired certificate must enroll in and attend a review course within 30 days of their certification expiration.
Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Training
Teach swimmers of all ages and abilities with the nationally recognized American Red Cross curriculum.
- Our WSI course prepares you to:
- Create effective swim lesson plans.
- Teach American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim levels.
- Deliver safe, inclusive instruction.
- Assess swimmer skills and track progress.
This certification is ideal for those interested in teaching lessons, coaching, or adding instructional experience to their résumé.
